About The Artist

Gemma, born in Houston, Texas, is a self-taught expressionist painter, working with both oil and acrylic paints. All of her works are unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Tapping into her half-Indian roots, Gemma uses mesmerizing and explosive color combinations in her work, brandishing her unmistakable mark on each piece. Her work oscillates from vibrant animals to abstract shapes to sultry models, all bursting with emotion, life, and color.

Inspired by both the beauty of life around her and literature such as Dante’s Inferno and Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment, Gemma asserts a deeper meaning within each piece of art she creates. Her debut collection, inspired by Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, focuses on human perception and the warped reality that the mind can easily create.
